"God has been good to Valley...
...I have seen many lives touched and helped over these years through wonderful counselors and staff that I feel He has put together. For me, it’s been a unique journey of trusting God and watching Him work."
--Dan Borsheim, Pastoral Counselor
OUR COUNSELING CENTER
Valley Christian Counseling Center is governed by a board of directors representing several area churches. Sarah Stigen and Nicole Rostad are the co-CEOs of the Center. In these years of operation, we have added several other providers from a variety of mental health disciplines. These Christian providers bring a valuable mix of expertise and experience to the Center. Those dealing with depression, addictions, marital stress, eating disorders, child and adolescent issues, mental illness, and many other of life’s struggles can receive help and hope and prayer from a caring, skilled, Christian professional.
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
"...in His Word, God offers true grace and healing..."
OUR APPROACH
Our providers here at Valley Christian Counseling Center have a deep conviction that God has a plan for your life. He is at work in shaping who He wants you to become. The journey is sometimes tough and we need others to come alongside of us in those seasons of life. This is what motivates our providers to invite you to come and meet with them. They see how God’s Word has the answers that could be an encouragement to your specific life’s challenges.
Our mental health services approach life's challenges through the lens of God’s Word. The Bible tells us how man was made in the image of God - beautiful, perfect, righteous. He tells of how through one act of sin in the Garden of Eden, humans became broken, hurt and fallen - and separated from God. Because of this brokenness, each person who ever lived experiences hurt, pain, and suffering.
Because of God’s kindness, He has provided His Son, Jesus Christ, as the payment for our sin - giving us an opportunity to be saved from our sin - and bringing us into a right relationship with Him. The answer to our soul’s longing is found in Him. Peace is found in Him. Grace is found in Him. Healing is found in Him.
We live in a sinful and broken world with broken humans. Our desire is to point each person back to the One who can give hope. Our providers seek to identify truth in His word, and then in humility offer words of grace and healing.
OUR CORE VALUES
Since its creation, Valley Christian Counseling has relied on God’s Word - providing us with the values and principles on which we stand. As an organization, we believe His Word can guide others in finding comfort and answers.
Local churches play a crucial role in our lives - a support system that leads us towards His will. Our mission is to discover ways to partner with local churches to bring a blessing to each person who reaches out to us.
Over 25 years ago a pastor of a larger church in congregation called and asked me if I knew of a good Christian counselor to refer someone to. The closest one that I knew was in Fergus Falls. How grateful I am today that when caring for those in our congregation we can refer with confidence to Valley Christian Counseling Center. We see them as a partner in caring for the greater community and are so thankful for God's provision of Dan and the gifted staff of Christian counselors. We regularly refer men, women, and children to Valley and are glad that we can do so with the assurance that the care they receive comes from the perspective of our faith.

We are extremely thankful to have a wonderful partnership with Valley Christian Counseling Center. When I ask Prairie Height'ers how their experience has been at VCCC, I have received nothing but positive comments. The staff at VCCC has been exceptional to work with as we partner to help people find help, healing and growth towards God. I have seen firsthand how those utilizing the counseling services for a season have come out of it refreshed and renewed, ready to keep moving forward in life. What a valuable resource to have in our community!
